What is through-heating?
During the induction forging process, heat is generated within the part, but it mostly accumulates near the outer surface. Consequently, it takes time for the heat to conduct to the center of the part. For bar-ends with a diameter of up to 20 mm, the through-heating process can be completed in less than 10 seconds. However, for a larger bar with a diameter of 75 mm, it will take as long as 150 seconds for the heat to reach the center.
