      Is post-oven tempering requirement?

      For shafts SAE 1045 and SAE 4140 shafts, is post-oven tempering or draw-back operation required?

      Induction heat treating will typically deliver a quenched hardness close to RC(Rockwell) 60. Depending on the final use of the shaft a post-oven tempering may be required to increase the ductility and other properties.
